Overview
This popular shop for rich tsukemen has been in Shimogamo, Kyoto, since 2011. Its biggest distinguishing feature is serving the dipping broth in a donabe (clay pot), kept bubbling hot. While tsukemen broth often cools down towards the end, here you can enjoy it piping hot until the very last bite. The signature rich tsukemen features a triple soup blend of pork bone, chicken, and seafood, offering a rich yet crisp flavor profile. Inside the dipping broth, tender, fall-apart chashu, reminiscent of kakuni, generously sinks, providing satisfying substance. The noodles are chewy, homemade, made with tapioca flour, and you can choose between thick or medium-thin; quantities from nami (regular/standard portion) to omori (large) are available at the same price. Opting for nami (regular/standard portion) comes with a raw egg. Beyond tsukemen, the menu is broad, including the spicy-sweet 'Kanjan Tsukemen,' Miso Butter Ramen, and meat soba using rice flour noodles. Adding vinegar for a change of flavor or enjoying 'soup-meshi' (rice added to the leftover broth) to finish are also popular ways to savor your meal.
How to Order

1Before Entering
The shop is a 1-minute walk from the Kyoto City Bus Rakuhoku Koko-mae stop and about a 15-minute walk from Kitayama Subway Station. It's a cozy shop with about 14 seats, and due to its popularity, queues often form outside during lunch and dinner hours. It's relatively easier to get in on rainy days or right after opening.
2Purchasing Meal Tickets / Ordering
There's a ticket machine immediately inside the shop. When crowded, please wait outside for your turn and then purchase a meal ticket from the machine once directed inside. On the ticket machine, in addition to selecting the type of tsukemen or ramen, you can choose the noodle thickness (thick or medium-thin) and the noodle quantity (from nami (regular/standard portion) 200 grams to omori (large)); all quantities are the same price. Choosing nami (regular/standard portion) includes a raw egg. Payment is cash only; credit cards, e-money, and QR code payments are not accepted.
3Seating / Receiving Your Order
There are counter seats and table seats, and a staff member will guide you. When crowded, the estimated serving time is around 10 minutes. The dipping broth is served boiling in a donabe (clay pot), so please be careful of burns.
4Other Notes
If the dipping broth feels too rich, adding vinegar can refresh the taste. Since it's served in a donabe, it stays hot until the end, but if you still find it lukewarm, you can ask for it to be reheated. After finishing your noodles, we recommend concluding your meal with 'soup-meshi,' which is rice added to the remaining dipping broth. Please check the official account in advance for any temporary closures or irregular holidays for peace of mind.
