Ginza Kagari Honten
銀座 篝 本店
Overview
A renowned toripaitan (creamy chicken broth) ramen restaurant nestled in an alley at Ginza 6-4-12, Ginza 6-chome, just a 3-minute walk from Ginza Station. After relocating from its previous location at Ginza 4-4-1, it now stands as a prominent fixture in Ginza's highly competitive ramen scene, situated next to 'Ginza Oborozuki'. Its signature dish, the 'Toripaitan Soba' (2,000 yen), features a rich, creamy soup that condenses the umami of chicken, boasting a potage-like thickness yet an unexpectedly clean and easy-to-drink finish – a truly appealing balance. The straight, thin noodles entwine perfectly with the soup, and the toppings offer a vibrant composition: an abundance of vegetables (red paprika, pumpkin, sweet potato, bamboo shoots, mitsuba (Japanese parsley), spinach, etc.), seared chashu (braised pork) from Hokkaido-raised pork, and a soft-boiled egg. It's less a bowl of ramen and more a complete culinary creation. Beyond the signature Toripaitan Soba, the menu offers a wide range of options, including Special Toripaitan (with added chicken chashu, chicken prosciutto, and smoked duck), Toripaitan Truffle Soba (3,000-3,200 yen, using black truffle paste + white truffle oil), Chicken Porcini Mushroom Shoyu Tsuke Soba (1,900 yen, extra large portion), and Niboshi (dried sardine broth) Ramen (1,200 yen). Popular side dishes include meat rice, Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) rice, and chicken chashu butter rice (with truffle soy sauce). The restaurant frequently sees inbound tourists making up 90% of its clientele, and it employs numerous English-speaking staff. The shop exterior exudes a serene, traditional Japanese ambiance, and menu displays, including the signboard, are predominantly in English.
How to Order
(Check the official account below in advance for irregular closures and updates)

1Before Entering the Restaurant
A street-level shop nestled in an alley in Ginza 6-chome, 3-6 minutes walk from Ginza Station, or 6 minutes walk from JR Yurakucho Station. Open continuously from 11:00 to 21:30. For the latest regular holidays and temporary closures, please check the official X (@kagarihonten). During peak hours (around 12 PM for lunch and 7 PM for dinner), there are often 10-20 people queuing outside, with a particularly high proportion (90%) of foreign tourists. Staff efficiently manage the line, taking orders while customers wait outside and relaying them to the kitchen via radio. This unique high-speed operation means that ramen is served within tens of seconds of entering, so even with a wait, the time until you start eating is short.
2Purchasing Meal Tickets and Ordering
While queuing outside, a staff member will approach to take your order and provide a menu. Once you place your order, the staff will relay it to the kitchen via radio. You will then purchase a meal ticket from the vending machine immediately upon entering the restaurant. The ticket machine is completely cashless (cash not accepted), supporting all major credit cards (VISA/Master/JCB/AMEX/Diners), transportation IC cards (Suica/Rakuten Edy/nanaco/WAON/iD/QUICPay), and QR payments (PayPay/d払い/Rakuten Pay/au PAY/Alipay/WeChat Pay). You can choose from the signature "Tori Paitan Soba" (Chicken Broth Soba) for 2,000 yen, Special Tori Paitan, Tori Paitan Truffle Soba (3,000-3,200 yen), Chicken Porcini Mushroom Shoyu Tsukemen (Soy Sauce Dipping Noodles) (1,900 yen, Tokumori=extra large size), Niboshi Ramen (Dried Sardine Ramen) (1,200 yen), and side dishes like Meat Rice or Chicken Chashu Butter Rice (with truffle soy sauce).
3Seating and Receiving Your Order
There are only 18 counter seats. You will be seated by a staff member, and your ramen will be served almost simultaneously (because your order was already relayed to the kitchen via radio). The speed from seating to serving is exceptionally fast, within tens of seconds to 1 minute.
4Other
Table condiments are minimal, designed for you to savor the perfection of the soup and ingredients. For the Truffle Soba, the aroma of truffle paste emerges in the latter half, allowing you to enjoy its marriage with white truffle oil. The Tori Paitan is balanced so you can drink every last drop of the soup, and many customers finish it completely.
