Gottsu Akihabara
ごっつ 秋葉原店
Overview
Gottsu Akihabara is a specialty shop of Se-abura Chatcha-kei ramen (ramen with pork back fat scattered into the soup), run by the "Tama" Group, a famous ramen shop from Kawasaki, conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from the Showa-dori Exit of JR Akihabara Station. Their signature is the "Chou Gotteri" (super-rich) flavor, featuring a rich tonkotsu shoyu (pork bone soy sauce) based soup generously topped with abundant pork back fat. This flavorful and sweet soup beautifully coats the medium-thick, wavy noodles made by Kanno Seimenjo. The menu offers a wide variety, from their signature Se-abura Shoyu Ramen (pork back fat soy sauce ramen) for 900 yen, to Negi Ramen (scallion ramen), Monta-men, Chashu-men (roast pork ramen), Tsuke Chuka (dipping style ramen), and limited-time options like the Black Pepper Se-abura Ramen for 980 yen and Kuro Mayu Ramen (black garlic oil ramen) for 980 yen. The amount of pork back fat can be finely adjusted to your preference, with options such as "Assari" (light), "Futsu" (regular), or "Gottsu" (super-rich). Toppings include bean sprouts, scallions, tender chashu, menma (fermented bamboo shoots), and spicy scallions. A popular two-stage eating method involves dissolving the "Kara-bakudan" (spicy bomb) halfway through the meal, which transforms the mellow pork back fat soup into a "Uma-kara Soup" (deliciously spicy soup). The sweetness of the pork back fat envelops the spiciness, creating an addictive richness. With 13 counter seats, the shop operates continuously from 11 AM to 4 AM the next day, making it a popular choice for "Shime Ramen" (ramen after drinks). The impressive abundance of both takuan (pickled daikon radish) and chopped garlic provided on the tables is also a notable feature.
How to Order
1Before entering
A 4-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station Showa-dori Exit, a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Akihabara Station Exit 2, and a 6-minute walk from Suehirocho Station. The restaurant is open continuously from 11:00 AM to 4:00 AM the next day, making it available until late at night and catering to demand for a late-night ramen after drinks. While there may be queues depending on the time of day, it is relatively easy to get in late at night on weekdays. There is also a system where if you register for the app, you will receive information about the week's limited menu and services every Monday.
2Purchasing meal tickets
There is a ticket vending machine inside the store, which operates on a pre-purchase system. Since there are no photos, please judge by the menu name. Signature items include Seabura Shoyu Ramen (Back Fat Soy Sauce Ramen) 900 yen, Negi Ramen (Scallion Ramen) 1100 yen, Monta-men 1200 yen, Chashu-men (Roast Pork Ramen) 1300 yen, Tsukechuka (Dipping Noodles), and a rich variety of limited-time offerings such as the new Black Pepper Seabura Ramen 980 yen and Black Ma-yu Ramen 980 yen. Noodle portions can be selected from Futsu (regular) 250g, Chumori (medium size) 400g, and Oomori (large size). The amount of back fat (seabura) can be verbally specified to staff, choosing from "Assari" (light), "Futsu" (regular), or "Gottsu" (rich/heavy). On weekday evenings, app members can get a free Chumori (medium size), Oomori (large size), or Hanraisu (half rice) as a perk. Payment is cash only; cards, electronic money, and QR code payments are not accepted.
3Seating and receiving
There are only 13 counter seats. After purchasing your meal ticket, take any available seat. Staff will verbally confirm your preferred back fat amount and noodle portion, so please state your preference, such as "Gottsu" (rich/heavy) or "Chu" (medium). Serving time is approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
4Other
Abundant amounts of takuan (pickled daikon radish) and chopped garlic are available on the table, which can be used to change the flavor halfway through or to accompany white rice. The new "Karabakudan" (spicy bomb) extra topping (equivalent to +200 yen) is typically enjoyed in two stages: first, savoring the mellow back fat soup, and then evolving into a spicy and savory soup by dissolving the "Karabakudan" during the latter half of the meal.

pic.twitter.com/rdP9KIf5N9
