Hakata Kawabata Dosanko Hakata DEITOS
博多川端どさんこ 博多デイトス店
Overview
"Hakata Kawabata Dosanko Hakata Deitos" is conveniently located inside "Hakata Men-Kaido" on the 2nd floor of Hakata Deitos, directly connected to Hakata Station. As a branch originating from the main store in Nakasu-Kawabata, it stands as the only miso ramen shop in Hakata Men-Kaido, offering a valuable alternative in Hakata's predominantly tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen scene. The signature Special Miso Ramen follows the Sapporo Dosanko style while featuring a unique "Hakata Kawabata Dosanko-ryu" (Hakata Kawabata Dosanko style) arrangement based on Kyushu miso, resulting in a lighter and easier-to-eat flavor that distinguishes it from the richer Sapporo style. The noodles are medium-thick and wavy, offering a chewy texture that pairs well with the miso soup. Toppings include minced pork (for special ramen only), bean sprouts, onions, menma (fermented bamboo shoots), chashu (braised pork belly), and green onions. It's common practice to change the flavor by adding ichimi tōgarashi (Japanese chili powder) from the table. The side dish of half fried rice is gently prepared with a moist texture, reminiscent of "mom's cooking," and offers a nostalgic taste with accents of carrots and kamaboko (fish cake). Sara Udon is also a popular menu item, with its flavor-infused thick noodles supported by regular customers. The staff provides lively service, making it a welcoming spot for both tourists and local customers.
How to Order
1Before entering
Located in "Hakata Men-kaido" on the 2nd floor of Hakata Deitos, directly connected to Hakata Station. Open from 11:00 to 22:30 (last order for food 22:00). Irregular holidays follow Hakata Deitos' closing days. Compared to popular shops like Kanetora in Hakata Men-kaido, this place is considered a good target, often allowing entry without waiting even during lunchtime. On weekday evenings, you usually don't have to queue, and on weekend evenings, the wait is often only around 15 minutes.
2Purchasing meal tickets
There is a ticket vending machine in the Men-kaido aisle. Purchase your meal ticket first, then join the back of the queue. The ticket vending machine has photos but no English display. Signature items include Special Miso Ramen, Miso Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Shio Butter Ramen, Sara Udon, and Special Ramen Half-Chahan Set. Noodles can be ordered in a large size (omori) (additional charge). Payment methods include cash, QR code payments (PayPay, auPAY, d払い, etc.), and credit cards (AMEX only). Electronic money (transportation IC cards, etc.) cannot be used. If you wish to use QR payments or credit cards, you need to call a staff member for assistance.
3Seating and receiving your order
A total of 34 seats, combining counter and table seating. During peak hours, staff will guide you to an available seat. Your order will be served in approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
4Other
Table condiments include ichimi togarashi (chili powder) and pepper. Ichimi (chili powder) pairs particularly well with miso soup, so repeat customers recommend adding it in the latter half of your meal for a change of flavor. The minced meat in the Special Miso Ramen sinks to the bottom of the soup, so scooping it up from the bottom with your spoon to finish it completes the experience. Ramen + rice sets, such as the Half-Chahan Set or Sara Udon Set, are popular choices.

唐辛子のピリッとした辛味はあるが、全体的には甘みのあるどさんこらしい穏やかな味わい。
半チャンはフワッパラッとしていておいしいが、若干味付けにムラがあり、玉ねぎも生に近いのが残念。 pic.twitter.com/pIxpcWGcBg
