Hakata Menbou Akanoren Marubiru
博多麺房 赤のれん 丸ビル店
Overview
A genuine Hakata Tonkotsu ramen shop in Marunouchi, inheriting the legacy of Azabu's renowned "Hakata Menbo Akanoren" with over 40 years of history. Located on the 6th floor of Maru Building, it boasts excellent access, just a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit. Its signature dish is a cloudy tonkotsu soup, cooked in a cauldron and seasoned with soy sauce, which is slightly oilier and richer than the Nagahama style but leaves no heavy aftertaste. The noodles are characteristic Hakata square-cut, extra-thin flat noodles, available in "hosomen (thin noodles)" and "goku-hosomen (very thin noodles)". Topped with char siu and shredded menma, it's customary to finish with a "kaedama (noodle refill)". Various toppings like "iwa-nori (rock seaweed)", "karashi takana (spicy pickled mustard greens)", and "beni shoga (red pickled ginger)" are available, along with popular sides like "mentaiko gohan (spicy cod roe rice)" and "sui gyoza (boiled dumplings)". In the evenings, it can also be enjoyed as a ramen izakaya, offering a selection of à la carte dishes and alcoholic beverages.
How to Order
1Before entering
Located on the 6th floor of Maru Building, just a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit. With many seats and fast turnover, long queues are rare, and you can often get a table without waiting during both weekday lunch and dinner. Opening hours are Mon-Fri 11:00-22:30, Sat 11:00-22:00, and Sun/Holidays 11:00-21:00. Appetizer menus are available from 17:00.
2Ordering and payment
There is no ticket machine; orders are placed verbally at the counter or table after being seated, and payment is made after the meal. When ordering, specify your noodle preference ("hosomen (thin noodles)" or "goku-hosomen (very thin noodles)"). For "kaedama (noodle refill)", you can verbally request noodle firmness such as "futsu (regular)", "katame (firm)", or "barikata (very firm)" (kaedama is charged separately). Payment methods include cash, credit cards, public transportation IC cards (like Suica), and QR code payments.
3Seating and receiving
Both counter seats and table seats are available, accommodating groups and izakaya-style dining. Service is fast, typically within 3-5 minutes.
4Other
Enjoy changing the flavor with "beni shoga (red pickled ginger)" on the table, or paid toppings like "iwa-nori (rock seaweed)" and "karashi takana (spicy pickled mustard greens)". It's customary in Hakata style to enjoy multiple "kaedama (noodle refill)" with varying noodle firmness. Sides like "mentaiko gohan (spicy cod roe rice)", lunch sets, and "sui gyoza (boiled dumplings)" are also popular.

#ramen #東京都 pic.twitter.com/B1pqEe97ad
