Iekei Ramen Bushoya
家系ラーメン 武将家
Overview
This is the popular main branch of a Musashiya-affiliated Iekei ramen shop, known for its constant long queues in Akihabara. Its rich and flavorful tonkotsu shoyu soup is mild and easy to eat, pairing perfectly with Sakai Seimen's medium-thick straight noodles. It operates on a 'buy first' system: purchase your meal ticket from the vending machine before joining the queue. Once seated, you can verbally specify your preferences for noodle firmness, soup richness, and amount of oil. While it's cash-only and there's no English menu, you can still enjoy the classic Iekei experience by pairing the tabletop pickles and condiments with rice.
How to Order
1Before Entering (if there's a queue)
This is the main branch of a popular Iekei ramen shop from the Musashiya lineage, which always has a queue in Akihabara. While the turnover is fast, during peak hours, there can be a wait of 20-30 minutes.
2Purchase Meal Ticket / Order
If there is a queue, first buy your meal ticket at the ticket machine outside the shop (or near the entrance) and then join the end of the queue. This is a 'pre-purchase' style. The ticket machine does not have English indications. Payment is cash only (cards, e-money, QR payments are not accepted). Rice is 100 yen.
3Seating and Receiving
There are only 10 counter seats. Once you are guided, take your seat and hand over your meal ticket. At this time, verbally tell the staff your preferences for noodle firmness (kata (firm), futsu (regular), yawa (soft)), seasoning strength (koi (rich), futsu (regular), usui (light)), and oil amount (ome (more), futsu (regular), sukuname (less)). If it's your first time, it's fine to say 'futsu' (regular) for everything. Water and paper aprons are self-service.
4Other
You can change the flavor using the black pepper, sesame, grated garlic, ginger, tobanjan (chili bean paste), and cucumber pickles available on the table. The classic Iekei style is to wrap nori (seaweed) around rice, dip it in the soup, and eat.
