IKR51
Overview
IKR51 is a ramen specialty shop located in Minamisenba, Osaka, just a 2-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station. It's a rare find in the Kansai region, specializing in a rich, heavy soy sauce ramen with its signature "Kuro Shoyu" (Black Soy Sauce) soup. This soup is made by blending handmade soy sauce from Wakayama, infused with dried oysters, with chicken soup and four types of seafood dashi (soup stock). The soup boasts a deep, dark soy sauce color. While offering a powerful and intense soy sauce flavor upfront, it is designed with gentle layers of oyster-centric seafood dashi in the background, creating a taste that fuses the robust soy sauce strength of Kanto with Kansai's rich dashi culture. The noodles are medium-thick and chewy, crafted to perfectly pick up the soy sauce soup. Toppings include two types of chashu (braised pork), one with an oyster-infused oil paste and duck chashu, alongside a flavored egg with a vibrant red yolk (ajitama), green onions (aonegi), menma (bamboo shoots), and large, gyoza-like wontons. Each topping holds a starring role in the bowl. Beyond ramen, the menu also features Japanese side dishes such as kaisendon (seafood bowls). With over 30% of its customers being international tourists, IKR51 is an inbound-friendly establishment that offers English menus and is frequently visited by overseas travelers. This restaurant in the Shinsaibashi area carries the concept of "overturning the common perception of Kansai's soy sauce ramen."

Payment is by cash and PayPay only; credit cards, e-money, and other QR payments are not accepted. Serving time can be relatively long, with a wait of around 20 minutes from order to delivery, so plan your visit with ample time for your meal.

4Other
The signature Black Soy Sauce Ramen features a soup made by marinating dried oysters in Wakayama-made handmade soy sauce, mixed with chicken broth and four types of seafood dashi. Toppings are also carefully prepared, such as the oyster oil paste on top of the pork chashu and the large, gyoza-sized wontons. Japanese side dishes like seafood rice bowls are also available, offering options other than ramen.
