1Before entering

Located along Minojima street, about a 14-minute walk from JR Hakata Station Hakata Exit, 1 minute walk from Nishitetsu Bus "Sumiyoshi" stop, and about a 10-minute walk from Watanabedori Station. The exterior is unassuming, unlike a typical ramen shop, and can be easily overlooked, so it's safer to rely on the address to find it. There is no parking in front of the shop; use nearby coin parking. During peak times, these can fill up quickly, sometimes requiring you to find parking within a 10-minute walk. Mon-Sat: lunch (11:00-14:30) and dinner (18:00-21:00) service; Sun/holidays: lunch only. Holidays are irregular, so it's best to check the official Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/irifuneshokudou/) for the latest operating status.

2Ordering and Payment

There is no ticket machine inside the shop; order verbally after taking a seat. Following the Iekei style, you specify 4 axes each time: "noodle type (thin, medium-thick, thick), noodle firmness (soft=yawa (soft)/regular=futsu (regular)/firm=katame (firm)), flavor strength (light=usume (light)/regular=futsu (regular)/rich=koime (rich)), and amount of chicken oil (less=sukuname (less oil)/regular=futsu (regular)/more=ome (more oil))". For first-timers, it's safe to choose "medium-thick noodles, futsu (regular), futsu (regular), futsu (regular)" to experience the shop's standard. Side dishes such as chashu-don and natto-kimchi-don are also ordered verbally. Payment accepts cash, PayPay, d-barai, Rakuten Pay, au PAY, but credit cards and electronic money are not accepted.

3Seating and Receiving

The shop has a compact interior with a total of 10 seats: 6 counter seats and 1 table with 4 seats. Sit in any available seat and order. Estimated wait time for food is 5-10 minutes.

4Other

Table condiments include pepper, sesame, grated garlic (ninniku), tobanjan, vinegar, and chili oil. Adding a little garlic (ninniku) halfway through the meal adds a punch. The classic Iekei way to finish is to dip white rice into the soup, so ordering a side of rice or chashu-don allows you to enjoy it to the end. Compared to other Iekei shops in Fukuoka (Kyo-ya, Mujaki, Uchida-ya, etc.), it has a milder finish.
