Men ni Hikariwo
麺に光を
Overview
A renowned shoyu ramen shop tucked away in the basement of Amerikamura. Located at the end of a staircase leading down to the building's basement, its subdued exterior makes it easy to miss as a ramen shop at first glance. The menu names are unified by music genres: "HIP HOP" features duck soba with Kyoto duck and domestic chicken bone broth, "R&B" offers a blend of duck and seafood dashi, and "PUNK" is clam soba. All dishes are characterized by beautifully folded noodles, and the thick, flat noodles boast a smooth and chewy texture. The delicate toppings include two types of chashu (duck and pork shoulder loin), thinly sliced green onions, fried onions, bamboo shoots (hosaki menma), and yuzu peel. A limited "JAZZ" (miso soba) is also offered approximately twice a month. Register as a LINE friend to receive a complimentary ajitama (seasoned egg) or chashu topping. The ticket vending machine has English descriptions. Cash only. It's a compact space with 7 counter seats, attracting many foreign customers and couples.
