Menya 7.5Hz+ Umeda
麺屋7.5Hz+ 梅田店
Overview
Menya 75Hz Umeda is a shop that carries on the tradition of Higashi-Osaka Takada-style ramen, located in the highly competitive restaurant district on B2F of Osaka Station Front No. 2 Building. You can enjoy the unique world of Takada-style ramen, characterized by its distinctly black, rich soy sauce soup, thick, straight noodles with a firm, chewy texture, and large pieces of chopped green onions, exactly as it looks. Surprisingly, despite the dark color, the soup is moderately salty, delivering a pungent flavor with a direct hit of soy sauce's sharpness, while the richness of the dashi broth blends with the soy sauce's saltiness to create depth. When ordering, you will be asked, "Are thick noodles okay?" (thin noodles are also an option), but thick noodles are the default and offer the best experience of Takada-style ramen's charm. The thick noodles have a springy texture, soak up the soup well, and combine with the meaty chashu and large green onions for an incredibly satisfying meal. Another feature is the astonishing cost-performance of 680 yen for a regular ramen. The shop also offers a wide range of set menus, such as Set A (regular ramen + flavored egg + white rice for 1,150 yen) and Set B (chashu ramen + heta-don for 1,220 yen). Although it's a small shop with only 9 counter seats, partitions ensure private space, making it easy for solo diners to visit. It operates continuously from 11:00 to 20:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (closed Thursdays, no mid-day break), providing peace of mind that you can eat even at irregular hours.
How to Order
1Before Entering
Located on B2F of Osaka Station Front No. 2 Building, a 3-minute walk from JR Tozai Line "Kitashinchi Station" and a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro "Higashi-Umeda Station". Accessible via underground shopping arcade. Operating hours are continuous from 11:00 to 20:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (closed Thursdays, no mid-day break), making it a rare find where you can eat outside of typical lunch hours. With only 9 counter seats, expect a line during lunch peak, but the turnover is quick.
2Purchasing Meal Tickets & Ordering
There is no ticket vending machine; order verbally at the counter after being seated. Staff may also take your order while you are waiting in line or upon seating. When ordering, you will be asked, "Are thick noodles okay?" (thin noodles are also an option), but thick noodles are recommended to best experience the charm of Takada-style ramen. Signature dishes include Chuka Soba (regular 680 yen), Chashu-men (regular 850 yen, medium 900 yen, large), Set A (regular ramen + flavored egg + white rice for 1,150 yen), and Set B (chashu-men + heta-don for 1,220 yen), among others. Payment is cash and PayPay (QR code payment) only; cards, e-money, and other QR payments are not accepted.
3Seating & Receiving Your Order
There are only 9 counter seats, with partitions to ensure private space. Your order will be served within 5 to 10 minutes of ordering.
4Other
After your ramen is served, it's recommended to first mix the large, chopped green onions into the soup to enjoy their aroma and texture. Table condiments are minimal, so it's best to savor the true essence of Takada-style ramen as is. Since even a regular size is quite filling, first-time visitors should consider avoiding medium or large portions.
