How to Order
1Before entering
A specialty oyster salt ramen shop located in Rakuen Town Ikebukuro (same tenant as Rokubo Tantanmen), a 3-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. Open Mon-Thu, Sun 11:00-22:00 (L.O. 21:30), extended hours until 23:30 on Fri, Sat, and days before holidays. Opened in 2025 as the Ikebukuro branch of the "Mukan" group; the main branch (Nakanosakaue) operates by reservation only and is highly competitive, while the Ikebukuro branch offers the casual ease of "you can enter if you come." On weekend lunchtimes, queues of 10 or more people can form, with weekday evenings and around 3 PM being relatively easier times to enter.
2Purchase meal tickets and order
There is a ticket vending machine at the entrance of the shop. If there are empty seats, buy a ticket and proceed directly to your seat. During busy times, observe the queue and decide whether to join the end of the line or buy your ticket first. The signature dishes are Oyster Salt Ramen for 900 yen and Special Oyster Salt Ramen for 1300 yen (with 3 slices of meat, flavored egg, extra green onions). Half-noodle portion is also an option. 3Seating and receiving
There are only 9 counter seats, and the space behind the chairs is narrow, allowing only one person to pass. Staff will guide you to your seat. Service is remarkably fast, taking 1 to 5 minutes. After your bowl arrives, first take a sip of the soup, then gradually dissolve the "Oyster Ajillo" (paste) in the center into the soup to enjoy the changing flavors.
4Other
The table is equipped with grated garlic, sansho pepper, takana (no separate plate provided), and white pepper, which are typically added little by little from the middle of the meal to change the flavor. The transparent ladle is a symbol of the Mukan brand. Extra noodles (kaedama (extra noodle)) are available, and some regulars enjoy the pattern of changing to thick noodles and then ordering thin noodles as kaedama. After finishing your meal, lift your bowl and quietly exit the shop.
