Mutekiya
無敵家
Overview
Founded in 1998, this is an iconic tonkotsu ramen shop at Ikebukuro East Exit, well-known for its frequent queues. The rich and creamy Tonkotsu Shoyu (pork bone and soy sauce) soup offers a deep umami flavor with a clean, refreshing aftertaste, making it universally appealing. Enjoy three types of thick-cut, melt-in-your-mouth chashu: "original," "torched," and "yuzu kosho" (citrus pepper paste). Large portions are free. Table condiments such as blended bonito powder, super spicy takana (pickled mustard greens), and "kaeshi" (a sauce to deepen the flavor) are available, allowing you to freely customize your taste. Staff take orders while you wait in line, ensuring quick service once you're seated. The shop also prides itself on high hospitality, offering self-service concentrated jasmine tea and hair tie rentals. Many international visitors frequent the shop, and English support is available. Cash only. Open until 3:30 AM.
