1Before entering the shop

Located about a 5-minute walk from Nakajima-Koen Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku Line, proceed along Kikusui-Asahiyama Koen-dori and turn right at the first intersection into the alley. Open Mon/Thu 11:00-15:00, Fri/Sat/Sun 11:00-15:00 / 17:00-19:30, closed Tue/Wed. Parking is limited to one car. The owner, who trained at Sumire, started with a food stall and opened this miso ramen specialty shop at its current location in 2001, consistently ranking among the Ramen HOKKAIDO Top 100. Typical wait times during peak hours are 20-30 minutes, such as 7 people waiting outside + 2-4 inside before noon on Sundays, 6 people queuing before 2 PM on weekdays, a 30-minute wait after noon on weekdays, and 4 people waiting before opening at 11 AM on Saturdays. Conversely, Sunday nights around 7 PM and Monday nights are relatively less crowded. Business days and hours can be confirmed in advance on the Ameba blog.

2Ordering and pre-payment (no ticket machine)

There is no ticket machine at the shop entrance. After entering, staff will take your order, and payment is made in cash upfront. When a tray is presented, place the cash on it. This is an unusual system for first-time visitors. The straightforward menu features only Miso Ramen for 1100 yen and Miso Egg Ramen for 1300 yen (no Shoyu or Shio ramen; toppings are limited to rice, beer, or large size (omori)). Focusing solely on Miso is a key characteristic of this shop. Payment is cash only; credit cards, e-money, and QR code payments are not accepted.

3Seating and receiving your order

The compact interior has 5-6 counter seats and two 4-person tables, totaling 17 seats. If there are empty seats, you will be guided in order, and since your order and payment are already complete, your ramen will be served shortly (around 5-10 minutes). The shop walls and ceiling are adorned with numerous signed papers and autographs from celebrities and artists (such as ONE OK ROCK, back number, =LOVE), creating a unique atmosphere. The playful "Sumire Respect" original chopstick holders on the counter are also noteworthy.

Owner Ken Sumi, after training at Sumire, started with a food stall and opened this miso ramen specialty shop in 2001. The shop name "Okami Soup" (Wolf Soup) was chosen to evoke a "powerful taste like a wolf" and the concept of offering wild, robust miso ramen. Its greatest feature is the punchy yet mellow miso soup covered with a thick lard film. It's a rich bowl with a pork bone and chicken bone base, the sweetness of potatoes and onions, and a strong kick of garlic, ginger, and spices. While it's in the Sumire lineage, many say the taste is closer to Junren, and it has been slightly refined towards a more natural approach in recent years. The noodles are medium-thick square-cut wavy noodles from Nishiyama Seimen (a Sapporo classic), offering wheat flavor, chewy texture, and firmness that intertwine with the soup. Ingredients include bean sprouts, onions, ground meat, cabbage (uncommon for Sapporo miso), thick pork belly chashu, and white scallions. The egg in the 1300 yen egg ramen is a carefully selected free-range natural egg from Tobetsu-cho. The soup is piping hot; it may feel cool on the surface at first, but stirring it reveals the heat from below, keeping it hot until the end.
