Ramen GINZA TON BOX
ラーメン GINZA TON BOX
Overview
A ramen shop opened on October 7, 2025, located on Sukiyabashi-dori in Ginza 6-chome, a 5-minute walk from Ginza Station C2 Exit. This is the second brand officially produced by Takanori Yamagami, owner of the renowned "Ramen-ya Toy Box" in Minowa, establishing itself in the former location of "Ginza Oborozuki" after its relocation. Taking a significantly different approach from Toy Box's main chicken-based clear soup, this shop's signature is a light (tanrei) soup featuring "Butachintan" (pork-based clear soup). The Soy Sauce Ramen (1,200 yen), featuring pork broth simmered for over 20 hours with pork back fat (seabura) floating on top, delivers a strong pork umami despite being a clear soup (chintan), with the sweetness of the back fat and the sharpness of the soy sauce tare creating a layered depth. The Salt Ramen (1,200 yen), garnished with pink peppercorns and reminiscent of French cuisine, is delicate yet satisfying, allowing you to drink it all the way to the last drop. The noodles are Onishi Shokuhin's medium-fine straight noodles, notable for their smooth texture and excellent ability to carry the soup. Toppings consist of a simple combination of chashu (roast pork), nori (seaweed), and negi (scallions); the Special Ramen (1,600 yen) includes an increased portion of 3 slices of chashu, ajitama (marinated egg), and nori. The side dish "Takikomi Gohan" (seasoned rice, 350 yen) is designed to be enjoyed by dipping it into the ramen soup, offering a Japanese flavor with generously cut chashu pieces. The compact space, with only 7 counter seats, features woven rattan ceiling decorations, exuding the refined quality characteristic of Ginza. Even the details are meticulously crafted, such as chilled water served with crushed ice in silver cups.

1Before Entering
Located on the 1st floor of Daiichi Takahashi Building on Sukiyabashi-dori, a 5-minute walk from Ginza Station C2 exit. It's in Ginza's competitive ramen district, next to Shinamen Hashigo and near Oborozuki and Kagari. Opening hours are 11:00-15:00 (L.O. 14:30) and 17:00-22:00, with a break in between. On weekends and during evening peak hours (around 6 PM), there may be 2-6 groups waiting outside, with an estimated wait time of 20-40 minutes. It's relatively easier to enter in the early afternoon on weekdays or late at night.
2Purchasing Tickets and Ordering
To the right of the entrance is a touch-panel ticket machine, easy to operate with photos. Choose from the signature "Shoyu Ramen" (Soy Sauce Ramen) 1,200 yen, "Shio Ramen" (Salt Ramen) 1,200 yen, "Special Ramen" 1,600 yen (with extra flavored egg and chashu), Flavored Egg Ramen 1,400 yen, Chashu Ramen, various toppings, and the side dish "Takikomi Gohan" (Seasoned Rice) 350 yen. The ticket machine is fully cashless, accepting cash, credit cards, public transport e-money (Suica, iD, QUICPay, Rakuten Edy), and QR payments (PayPay, d-払, Rakuten Pay, au PAY, Alipay, WeChat Pay). Since the entrance door and ticket machine are close, staff will guide customers during busy entry/exit times.
3Seating and Serving
There are only 7 L-shaped counter seats. Upon being guided to your seat by staff, you'll be served chilled water with crushed ice in a silver cup. Service is fast, taking 3-5 minutes, but may take 5-10 minutes during peak hours. Water refills are self-service from the water cooler.
4Other Information
There are few special flavor-changing condiments on the table; the design is to savor the perfection of the soup, noodles, and toppings. The pink pepper served with the Shio Ramen is a spice used in French cuisine, and crushing it releases a vibrant aroma as an accent. The side dish Takikomi Gohan pairs well when dipped in the ramen soup, and repeat customers often make the Shoyu Ramen and Takikomi Gohan set their regular order.

pic.twitter.com/8Q2EJJr89T
