1Before Entering

This long-established restaurant, located in an alley 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit, is the original head shop from which the "Horiuchi" lineage branched off. It operates from around 11 AM, Monday to Sunday (please check in-store for specific closing days/hours). It shares popularity with the adjacent Horiuchi, and at its 11 AM opening, there are often around 15 people in line. If you can't enter in the first round, you'll typically wait about 20 minutes on the sofa inside. On holidays, at 11:30 AM, there are usually fewer than 10 people waiting inside (by after 12 PM, people start waiting outside). On holidays, after 3 PM, there are about 4 groups waiting (seated in 10 minutes). During off-peak hours, such as around 5 PM on weekdays, after 1 PM on weekdays, or around 8 PM on weekdays, you might be able to enter without waiting.

2Purchasing Meal Tickets

Purchase your meal ticket from the vending machine at the entrance before proceeding to your seat. Signature items include Ramen for 1300 yen, Zaru Ramen (Tsukemen, dipping noodles), Chashu Zaru for 1800 yen, Natto Zaru for 1450 yen, Chashu Ramen for 1900 yen, Omori (large size), and Ajitama (seasoned egg) topping. The regular size (namimori) has an overwhelming volume of approximately 400g of noodles (before boiling), which is more than the 300g of Jiro-style "small" ramen. The signature "Chashu Zaru" comes with an overwhelming volume of 5 large chashu slices overflowing from the bowl, plus chunks of meat. Payment is cash only; credit cards, e-money, and QR code payments are not accepted.

3Seating and Receiving Your Order

There are only 14 counter seats. With a staff of 3, customers are guided to available seats in order. When seated, hand your meal ticket to the staff. Expect your order to be served in a few minutes to about 10 minutes. The table condiments are simple, with only pepper and vinegar.
