1Before Entering

A popular shop known as a representative of Kansai Jiro-style ramen, located 5 minutes walk from Kintetsu Kyoto Line Fushimi Station, along the side road of National Route 24, at 1153-9 Shumonkicho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Opened in 2009, there is no dedicated parking, so using nearby coin parking is essential. Business hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11:00-15:00 / 18:00-23:45, Sunday 11:00-21:45 (open all day), closed Monday and Tuesday. Queues are established before opening; on weekdays around 10:50 there are a few people waiting, over 20 people at 18:00 opening time, and over 20 people queuing on Saturday afternoons during peak times.

2Purchasing Meal Tickets

There is a ticket vending machine at the shop entrance; first purchase your meal ticket, then join the queue. Noodle portions are basically Small (200g), Regular (300g), and Large (400g), but if you choose 50g/100g/150g for a smaller meal, they use a unique system of clipping a clothespeg onto the 'Small Ramen' ticket. While queuing, staff will come to check your meal ticket, so verbally tell them your noodle portion at that time. Signature items include Small Ramen (950-1000 yen), Regular Ramen (300g) 1050 yen, Large Ramen (400g), Soupless (Abura Soba) Regular 1050 yen, Shredded Pork 100 yen, Seafood (fish powder topping) 150 yen, Cheese 50 yen, and seasonal limited menus like Small Miso Ramen (limited) and Summer Camp Soupless Curry. Payment at the ticket vending machine is cash only.

3Seating and Receiving Your Order

A compact shop with only 12 counter seats. After being seated, staff will ask "ニンニク入れますか? (Ninniku iremasu ka?)" (Would you like garlic?), so verbally tell them your 'call' (koru) preferences at that time. The 'call' is a Jiro-style system where you specify the amount of ニンニク (ninniku) (garlic), ヤサイ (yasai) (vegetables), アブラ (abura) (back fat), ichimi (chili powder), koshou (pepper), and cheese as マシ (mashi) (more), マシマシ (mashi-mashi) (double), 少なめ (sukuname) (less), or ヌキ (nuki) (none). For first-time visitors, there is extensive support such as distributing a paper explaining how to 'call' or staff kindly explaining verbally. Service is fast, and the turnover is good.

4Other Information

The signature Jiro-style ramen features a rich pork bone-based soup combined with soy sauce, tending to become more emulsified in the evening. It is characterized by a mountain of ヤサイ (yasai) (vegetables) (マシマシ (mashi-mashi) (double) possible), extra-thick chashu (so tender it breaks apart with chopsticks), and thick, chewy, wavy noodles. The soupless ramen is meant to be mixed thoroughly (tenchi gaeshi) before eating, and adding seafood (fish powder topping) or cheese topping to enjoy flavor changes is a common practice. Limited menus include Mala Miso "Akai Suisei" (Red Comet), Tokushima-style ramen, Summer Camp Soupless Curry, and Miso Ramen, offering seasonal variations that attract repeat customers. Announcements for temporary closures and limited menus are posted on the official Instagram, which can be used for confirmation before visiting.
