Seimenya
清麺屋
Overview
This is a ramen and tsukemen shop located at the southern end of Nipponbashi Ota Road, specializing in chicken clear broth. The soup boasts an elegant flavor, with the rich umami of chicken dissolved into a pristine clear broth. You can choose between shoyu (soy sauce) and shio (salt) flavors. They use noodles from Menya Teigaku, a renowned noodle factory in Kyoto, with different types such as thin or flat noodles used depending on the menu item. "Okami no Ojiya" (Landlady's Porridge), available as an add-on when ordering tsukemen, is a popular specialty where a savory rice porridge (zosui) is prepared using your leftover dipping broth. Limited-time menus are also regularly introduced. The interior has a cozy, homely atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Japanese restaurant, and the service is exceptionally polite. Open only for lunch, closed on Tuesdays. While the ticket vending machine does not have photos or English explanations, the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and easy to enter.

How to Order
Ordering at Seimen-ya follows these steps: 1. **Before entering the shop (if there's a line)** If there is a line outside the shop, please line up at the end and wait. As seating is limited, you may need to wait outside. 2. **Entering the shop & Ordering** Upon entering, please first purchase your meal tickets at the ticket machine near the entrance. Since the ticket machine does not have photos or English descriptions, please be prepared to point to communicate your order. Popular items include "Tori Soba (Soy Sauce/Salt)" and "Tori Shoyu Tsukemen", payable by cash or PayPay. If you order Tsukemen, you can also add "Okami's Ojiyu" after your meal, so please purchase the Ojiyu ticket at the same time. 3. **Seating & Receiving** After handing your meal tickets to the staff, please take the seat you are guided to and wait for your ramen to be served. The staff may confirm your order details and noodle quantity when you hand over the tickets. 4. **Other** If you ordered Tsukemen and also purchased a ticket for "Okami's Ojiyu", please hand the remaining dipping broth to the staff after you finish your Tsukemen. The staff will then use that broth to prepare "Okami's Ojiyu" for you.
