Soranoiro NIPPON
そらのいろNIPPON
Overview
Soranoiro NIPPON is a popular ramen restaurant located in Tokyo Ramen Street on B1F of Tokyo Station Ichibangai, renowned for its exquisite local chicken flavor and commitment to diverse ingredients. Its main branch is in Nakano Ward, while this Tokyo Station flagship store opened in 2014. While it boasts a Tabelog Ramen TOKYO Hyakumeiten-equivalent rating (3.71), it also offers menus that cater to global dietary diversity, such as Vegan Shoyu Ramen (1,700 yen) and Gluten-Free Shio Ramen (1,800 yen), making it a leading establishment at Tokyo Station capable of accommodating international tourists and guests with dietary restrictions. Operating continuously from 9 AM to 11 PM, it widely serves purposes from a pre-business trip brunch to a late-night ramen before the last train. The signature 'Shoyu Ramen' (1,000 yen) is a beautiful clear soy sauce-based soup combining chicken (primarily Amakusa Daio local chicken) and seafood, with a surface of floating oil and a subtly sweet broth perfectly matched with thin, straight noodles. The umami of the chicken bones and the soft saltiness of soy sauce selected from breweries nationwide are designed to keep you savoring every spoonful. The 'Special Shoyu Ramen' (1,500 yen) is lavishly topped with three types of chashu (two pork chashu, one chicken breast), menma, ajitama (seasoned egg), green onions, and ginger-infused dumplings/wontons, offering high satisfaction as a bowl of ramen. This restaurant's unique and original menu item is the 'Kinoko Vege Soba' (1,100 yen). The soup is a potage-style broth combining vegetable dashi with soy milk, delivering a gentle sweetness and umami reminiscent of a vichyssoise from a French course meal. Ingredients like zucchini, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, mizuna, and mushrooms are arranged colorfully, while moist chicken chashu complements the umami. Furthermore, by adding the 'Risotto for Vege Soba' (200 yen, or 150 yen cheaper if ordered as a set), you can transform the remaining potage soup into a risotto style by adding hot rice with chashu, ensuring you savor every last drop. The interior is adorned with traditional Japanese crafts like Okinawan Yachimun pottery and Hariko tiger papier-mâché, and meticulous attention to detail for Shinkansen users and travelers is evident throughout, with power outlets at counter seats and paper aprons readily available on tables.
How to Order

1Before entering the store
Located about a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Station Yaesu Central Gate, within 'Tokyo Ramen Street' on B1F of Tokyo Station Ichibangai. With continuous operation from 9 AM to 11 PM, you can often enter without waiting during the morning brunch hours or the off-peak hours around 2 PM. During weekday lunch peaks or Saturday/Sunday lunch, there's usually a line of 5-10 people, but it's known as a relatively easy place to get into compared to other shops on Ramen Street. The closing time is late at 11 PM, so entry is possible even after 10 PM.
2Purchasing meal tickets and ordering
There's a ticket vending machine at the entrance. It's a touch-panel type with photos and supports English, featuring popular items like 'Shoyu Ramen', 'Special Shoyu Ramen', 'Kinoko Vege Soba', unique options like 'Vegan Shoyu Ramen' and 'Gluten-Free Shio Ramen', local chicken Paitan Ramen, and sides like 'Risotto for Vege Soba' and 'Rice'. If ordering Kinoko Vege Soba, selecting the 'Kinoko Vege Soba Risotto Set' from the vending machine from the start saves 50 yen. Pre-purchase: Purchase your meal ticket at the vending machine before joining the end of the line. Payment is only by cash and public transport e-money (Suica/PASMO, etc.); credit cards and QR code payments are not accepted.
3Seating and receiving your order
There are 14 counter seats and 3 tables, totaling 26 seats. Staff will guide you to an available seat. Once seated, power outlets are available at the counter, allowing you to charge your smartphone, which might be low from Shinkansen travel, while you wait. Service takes approximately 5-10 minutes.
4Others
If you ordered Vege Soba, the rice for risotto operates on a separate card system; you hand the 'Risotto Card' to the staff when you're done with your noodles, and they will bring it. On the table, you'll find black pepper, fried shallots, ichimi togarashi (chili flakes), etc., which significantly change the aroma and texture when sprinkled on the risotto. Paper aprons are available next to the vending machine, so business travelers in suits can slurp their soup without worry. Information on temporary closures and limited-time menus is announced on their official Instagram.
