1Before entering

This is a specialty dandan noodle shop located near Tawaramachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. It operates close to continuous hours, including evening service from 5 PM onwards. Immediately after opening, it is often possible to enter without a queue, but during peak hours, a line of about 10-15 people forms. Since the owner operates alone, it may take time for your order to be served, so it's safer to plan with some extra time when visiting with multiple people.

2Purchasing meal tickets and ordering

There is a ticket vending machine at the shop entrance. Purchase your meal ticket at the machine before heading to your seat. The main menu features six types of dandan noodles: Regular Dandan Noodles, Yakuzen (Herbal) Dandan Noodles (1150 yen), Toripaitan (Chicken Broth) Dandan Noodles (1200 yen), Premium Dandan Noodles, Soupless Dandan Noodles, and Rich Toripaitan Dandan Noodles. Spice levels can be selected from "1-spicy" on the vending machine buttons. If you want "0-spicy" or "0.5-spicy", please verbally tell the staff when handing over your ticket. Side dishes include barley rice, seasoned egg (120 yen), and coriander topping (350 yen). Payment is cash only at the vending machine.

3Seating and receiving your order

The shop is two stories, but customer seating is only on the first floor; the second floor is for restrooms only. The first floor has a small number of counter seats (around 10 seats), and staff will guide you to an empty seat. Due to the owner operating alone, it may take 5-15 minutes for your order to be served, and longer during busy periods. As part of their service style, a warm oshibori (wet towel) and cold Kyo-bancha (Kyoto roasted green tea) are provided free of charge before your meal.

4Other information

The signature Yakuzen Dandan Noodles are characterized by the refreshing aroma of green sansho (Japanese pepper) oil. Even at spice level 1, it has a satisfying kick, with a spiciness slightly milder than Shin Ramyun, making it approachable for first-timers. The Toripaitan Dandan Noodles offer a gentler taste than Yakuzen, with the creaminess of the chicken broth and the richness of sesame mellowing the spiciness. The Premium Dandan Noodles are a luxurious version with upgraded ingredients and preparation. The noodles are homemade, thin, and low-hydration, offering both a smooth slurp and a good bite, with a handmade feel that varies slightly depending on the batch. Ingredients include seasoned minced pork, shredded green onions, chopped cashews, dried shrimp (ami), and sesame. There are two types of spoons; the slotted spoon is designed to easily scoop up minced meat and nuts that have sunk to the bottom. Soupless Dandan Noodles pair well with the "shime" style of adding barley rice after eating the noodles.
