T's Tantan Gransta Tokyo
T's たんたん グランスタ東京
Overview
A vegan tantanmen specialty shop located in Gransta Tokyo inside Tokyo Station. It's characterized by not using any animal products such as meat, seafood, eggs, or dairy, and preparing its soup with plenty of vegetables and soy milk. Menus free of the Five Pungent Herbs (garlic, chives, etc.) are also available, catering to Oriental vegetarians. The signature dishes are the Golden Sesame Tantanmen and Black Sesame Tantanmen, which offer a rich sesame flavor with moderate spiciness, balancing a mellow, soy milk-based richness with a refreshing aftertaste. The soy meat "nikumiso" (seasoned minced meat) and grilled "veggie chashu" (braised pork-like slices) have a texture similar to real meat, providing an unexpectedly satisfying vegan experience. The noodles are extra-fine and straight, and for an additional fee, you can change them to konjac noodles for an even healthier option. Side dishes include garlicky veggie gyoza and rice balls made with soy meat and five-grain rice. The recommended way to eat is to thoroughly mix the miso and peanut paste into the soup, and efforts are made to keep it hot until the very end. Due to its location in Tokyo Station, it attracts many international customers and is popular as a globally recognized vegan ramen shop.
