The signature dish is the jet-black "Hanazono Black" ramen, featuring a surprisingly light soy sauce soup, snappy round noodles from Kondo Seimen, and well-infused chashu.
Notes
Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (subject to change). Cash payment only. Located in a residential area away from tourist spots, often with long queues during lunchtime.

1Before entering the shop

It is located about a 5-minute walk from Hanazono Station on the JR San-in Line, along the main gate of Myoshinji Temple. It is in a residential area away from the main tourist spots, making it difficult to find unless you specifically aim for it. As a popular shop since 1977, there are often queues before opening, especially during lunchtime. There are a few parking spaces in front of the shop, and coin parking lots are also nearby.

2Ordering

There is no ticket vending machine; instead, you take a seat, look at the menu, and order verbally. The menu primarily consists of ramen and white rice. When ordering, you can verbally communicate your preferences, such as noodle firmness (e.g., kata (firm)), whether to include freshly minced raw ninniku (garlic), extra negi (green onion), or choosing chashu with more fatty parts. The difference between chashu ramen and regular ramen is small, so you can choose based on your preference. Payment is cash only.

3Seating and Receiving

The interior features an L-shaped counter and table seats. A couple meticulously prepares each bowl one by one. During busy times, multiple orders might be made at once, so it may take some time for your food to be served depending on when you enter.

4Other

The soup is not as strong as it looks, so it's recommended to taste it as is first. Adding white pepper, which you might not usually use, enhances the richness of the soy sauce, and you can also enjoy changing the flavor with the tabletop spicy seasoning. Rice pairs well with the soup but can sometimes sell out.
